New Publications are reported around the world!

If you haven't received your envelope already I am hopeful that it isn't going to be long. Along with Collector 97 you will have a copy of the latest PCS publication, Advertisements in Wartime Penguin Books: A Further Wartime Blemish.

A PCS fascination that began in Newsletter 1 (in 1974) is now the subject of a 144 page book. The so-called Wartime Blemish has been raised in a number of our articles over the years.

In the very first PCS newsletter, Andrew Hajducki wrote on the topic and Miscellany 1 (1986) by Russell Edwards revised and expanded the subject. As Tim Graham says in his Foreword "the seed was sown when I re-read that article. It is one of the finest examples of Russell Edwards' felicitous and witty prose".

Tim has included the full text of the Miscellany in his book and follows it up with a wealth of advertisements, a comprehensive afterword and an index. This is a definitive work on a subject that has intrigued and delighted Members since day one!

The other item in your package (apart from the reminder for Subscriptions for those that pay annually!) is Penguin Collector 97. Plenty of articles with tantalising titles, mysteries, mousetraps, Puffins, and a wonderfully seasonal look at 'The Importance of the Third Waistcoat Button'!

Finally, and sadly, the Obituaries section contains farewells to too many stalwarts of the Society including two mentioned above, Andrew Hajducki and Russell Edwards.
